POST 10: The English Class

 -How did you like this subject at university? What about the use of blogs?

For me the English class is important because this language is used in entire world, for standardize the oral relations between peoples of different places. In my career for example, even when other countries like Italy or France are more important, for example USA, however the majority of the texts are in English. For that I think this subject fundamental at university, however I must to admit didn’t learn all I can.

The blog is the part most entertaining and difficult of the English class. Is so necessary for me to reinforce my grammar. And I don’t feel uncomfortable like when I must talk front the class.  

 -What aspects of your English need to be improved and how do you plan to do this?

Sadly, I didn’t take advantage of the English class, because of that I can do (in one or two years) other class of english. Even when, I think that to travel in countries with others languages, you bind to “talk peacefully”. The points I need improved of my English is the grammar (the most important) and the accent. For talk in English always I must back to my accent for speed up the conversation, because with good pronunciation is very slow for me.

-Outside the English class, how much are you using English these days? What for?

Just now, I read a book of “Arts in Portugal”, the only book of the artistic expression of this country (in all faculties of university of Chile) and is in English. I must read slowly but with some help of internet I did understand a big part of the text. Is the first time I do some like that, and the final test of this class encouragement me for to do my personal’s translations.  

I hope use my English in summer when I travel, or in a future in others travels or in my studies after this career.

POST 9: INVESTIGATOR OF ARTS AND ARCHITECTURE

My future job, I hope, is investigator of arts and architecture. Now, I study theory and history of arts, a career that I love, that is perfect for me because I can study diverse aspect of the humanities and arts, inclusive, my way now in investigation is in architecture; that make me happy. In one or two years I hope study a major in this, in a university away of the country or in Catolic's University (because is the only institution in Chile when you can learn history and critic of architecture). Well, the way that I want to enter of this posgrade is with a grant. Is the only way in a future for to be a investigator, and live of this. That is the same way for my doctorate, in a long- long future. The grant of investigation of the university or academies is a good way to live in this area, specially with the few jobs in general for the arts and humanities.
I prefer this for life to others. I never work like cultural's agency because the relation with the people and the economy overwhelm me, and this area like a "engineering of art" (is a less creative work). Other specially that I don't work is the critic of art, is a very "exposed" job and you must write about other, like or don´t like the piece that you see.

This job have aspects very cool, because de salary is a grand of maintenance (independent of the monthly payment), also the only responsability that you have, is with yourself, dependent of you, if you go to class (or library, to interview a person or to take a photo). Well I know that this isn't the best salary in the world, but is a very good one for me.

POST 8: The friendship for me

The friendship is some invaluable for any person. Meet a people and, with the time, to say “he is my friend”, is a process natural and complex (well, I think that). For me a friend must be a person with qualities obvious and not so strange, some characteristics like: be nice, interesting, polite, faithful and funny. And one special conditions, but is some I think since few years, is “respect the spaces”, that is to say, don’t invade my personal space (and especially not demand time).

 I make friends easily, because I hate silence, then I start to speak a lot about anything. Is for this same reason that I haven’t friends for internet; I need the conversation, the relation “face to face”. Well, I have a few friends in different parts of the world (Paris, Valencia, Buenos Aires or Berlin), then I need the internet to speak with they.  

I have a lot of friends, of diverse places and that I meet in different moments of my life. But my closest friends are three or four person. Of my high school friends I can say Javier and Ricardo, two amazing people; they are faithful, kind, very intelligent and funny. I know there since seventh grade of primary, and we continue being friends, but I don’t see all time that I wish. Recently, of my university friends the girls are more (in my career) and they are fantastic. Two girls fundamental for me in this moment are Kati and Carol, the first one is my partner of class and work together in all in the career, and also we are very confidential friends; and Carol, is my mentor (because she was my “helper”) and artistic partner, is the person more similar to me (intellectually taking), we dream work, study and live together.

Well, they are some of my friends, lovely persons.   

POST 7: A little green gesture

The problem about environment is a big theme in our time. Some eco-organisations or green groups, installed the problem in the mind of everyone. Now, since childhood in the schools, is teached to kids about the career of the planet, with mini- campaign of preservation of native's nature or fauna. The most important revolution about the theme, raisin in the promise that mean the news generations.
In our country, especifically in my neighborhood, exist a campaign in recycled. We put garbage together, but only things that we know can be recycling. And a special truck- trash comes once in the week, for take this garbage. Is money for the neighborhood, and less trash decomposing.

I have never participeted in an eco- organisation, but I try to pollute less with little step. I ever prefer to ride in my bike, por example for come to the university. When I go far, is better take the bus, and not the car. Well the car is a good option, when is full, and the trip is near to Santiago. I see now, how our city is more friendly with bikers and in every part of Santiago is building bike- road, that is fantastic.
But now, the biggest problem with the pollution in Santiago to come from fabrics and airport. About the second guilty we can do few things, because is a problem where stay. However, is our responsability to demand that fabrics reduce its carbon footprint, because the health problems in the winter are cause because of its residue in the air.   

I want see more initiatives for get better our enviroment.

POST 6: My life with books

I have read books in my entire life. My father is editor of books of literature, education, poetry and essays. For there, the books have been present since my child. When I was a child, my mother said us (me and my sister) what we must read every morning before the school, with the time I started to love the literature, specially the mistery's novel. And the habit to remain in my life. Inclusive, I readed others independently of obligatory's books of the school (I prefer my interest).

For my career I must read books of kinds diverses, for example essays of aesthetic or history of arts. I never leave to read. One of my favourite writers is Antonio Tabuchi, and his famous novel "Sostiene Pereira", is amazing. The character of Pereira is a complex old man, widow and with an awful job. He is a periodist who can't write of politic because the dictatorship of Salazar. In this context, he know a couple of young working in the resistence against goverment. I recommend absolutely this book, and if you love Portugal (like me), is compulsory.

Well, is obvious that I love read books. The time I take for read depend of which kind of books, the novel is longer and essays is shorter (for school issue). Recently I read a book of Eza D'Queiros, and the plot is about a priest falling in love of a girl, the name of the novel is "El crimen del Padre Amaro. And is absolutely recommend too.

POST 5: Ch.Aco, an irregular Art Fair

Ch.Aco, the Chilean contemporary art fair, is one of the most important event of visual art in our country, we check that for many press was covering the event (national and international, like santiagotimes.cl). We can think what Ch.Aco is the great artistic event in the year, maybe that is true, in a country without bienal or trienal organized for the government. In the article of santiagotimes.cl don't tell us about the awful true in the artistic scene in Chile. 
The Trienal of Chile was an unique opportunity in our country. We had an event with curatorial's freedom. An art fair (independently of its intentions) is subordinate of economy. But, with the government of  Piñera, that was changed, removing trienal and supporting ch.aco. 
Now, ch.aco is an event for sell piece of art, and besides, had conferences and "launch" of books. Is with this events where stayed the irregularity. Like say santiagotimes.cl in the fair we saw international's gallery and the piece of Artur Fidalgo gallery's was definitively the best. The work of Fernando de La Rocque is a simple and funny big orgy in the walls of that space, the visitors had chance of take part in the piece with pens of diverse colour. The orgy was covered with "tags" and graffiti, a strategy very close with the street art. But, the rest of the fair was a disaster, the galleries clearly don't show us the best of its collections, and one or two pieces more, in general, the level was very low.
However, the books in ch.aco was very amazing. The new titles of Constructo's editors, one of the most important office of studies in architecture in our country, is very cool and pretty, the books is a "jewel" and the investigations are very awesome.
Because of that I think ch.aco is an event very irregular, with peaks very high and others so so low.
